Russell, Bobbette Ann (Marriage - 21 May 1960)
Miss Bobbette Ann Russell, daughter of Mrs. Edna and the late Arthur E. Russell of Neillsville, and Richard L. Herbert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Herbert of Detroit, Mich., were united in marriage Saturday, at 2 p.m., with Judge Lowell D. Schoengarth officiating. The ceremony was performed before an altar of white gladioli in the home of the bride’s mother at 400 West First Street.
The bride was given in marriage by her brother-in-law, Glenn W. Roberts. Donna Kissling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kissling, was maid of honor; Mary Beth Roberts and Vicki Lynn Beseler, nieces of the bride, were her bridesmaids; Russell Beseler and Bradley Roberts, nephews of the bride were candle lighters; Leonard Sollberger served as best man; and Glenn Roberts and Earle Siebert were ushers. Ellis Wall sang, "You’ll Never Walk Alone" and "The Lord’s Prayer," accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.
The bride wore a waltz-length imported silk organza over taffeta gown, with fitted bodice, diagonal appliqué of hand-clipped rosepoint lace, sequin trim portrait neckline, long filled sleeves, and bouffant skirt with lace appliqué. Her veil was elbow length of imported bridal illusion, fastened to a Swedish crown trimmed in crystal, rhinestones and pearls.
Miss Kissling’s dress of ballerina length was of water-pink silk organza, with open crown matching headband of pale pink rosebuds.
The groom and bestman were attired in white coats and dark trousers.
A reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Roberts, for relatives and immediate friends. Mrs. Arne Matheson, Mrs. John Roberts, Mrs. Roger Grottke, Mrs. Earle Siebert, Mrs. E. J. Roberts, Shirley Keller and Mrs. Donald Beseler assisted. Mrs. Beseler presided at the cutting of the cake.
The newlyweds left Saturday evening on a honeymoon trip in the south and will be at home after June 1, at 2674 Nebraska, Detroit, Mich.
The bride was graduated from Neillsville High School in 1955. She has been employed for nearly five years by American Airlines in Detroit.
The groom was educated at Catholic Central High School in Detroit and is a graduate of Michigan State University at Lansing. He is a sales representative of Northwest Airlines.
Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. C. Frankowiak and Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Herbert of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. William Beseler of Marshfield; and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Beseler and family of Solon Springs.
