Tirpak, John M. (16 JUL 1889 - 21 MAY 1957)

 

John Michael Tirpak, 67, of the Town of Pershing, Taylor Co., Wis., passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital at Ladysmith at 2:05 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 1957, death being caused by a stroke which he suffered about six weeks ago.

 

The deceased was born in Sol, Slovakia, July 16, 1889.  He was united in marriage there on Oct. 17, 1913 to Anna Kandala.  They came to America in 1921 and resided in Exeter, Pa. for four years, coming to Taylor Co. and his present farm  home in 1925.  He was in good health and active up until six weeks ago.  He was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Donald and a member of the Holy Name Society, Gilman.

 

Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Sister Mary Cyril, O.S.M., Addolovata Villa, Wheeling, Ill., Mrs. Clifford Sracina, Eau Claire, Wis., and Miss Helen Tirpak, Salem, Oregon; two brothers, Michael of Exeter, Pa., and Andrew of Vancouver, B.C., one sister, Mrs. Anna Bartko, Vraneu, Czechoslovakia, and four grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church at Gilman at 10:00 a.m., May 24th, Rev. John Dzurko officiating, and interment taking place in Meadowbrook Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Anthony Sotok, Leo Tice, Steve Leichlutner, John Malisheski, Frank Horvath and Andrew Mesiar.
