Dus, Leon #2 (13 APR 1889 - 25 MAY 1957)
Funeral services were held at the Thorp Funeral Home Chapel at ten o’clock Wednesday, May 29th, for Leon Dus, 68, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) businessman, who passed away May 25, 1957 of a stroke. Rev. Palaszewski, pastor, pastor of St. Mary’s Church, Lublin, officiated. Mr. Dus, with his son Steven, operated the Thorp Flour & Feed Mill here since 1948. He suffered a stroke about a year ago and has been an invalid since that time.
The deceased was born in Poland on April 13, 1889. He came to America in 1910 and located on a piece of wild land which he cleared and made into a productive farm, near Bellinger, in Taylor County, which is now operated by his son Frank. In 1913 he was united in marriage to Stephania Wielgur at Lublin, Wis. They came to the city of Thorp in 1948.
Besides his widow, he is survived by three sons, Steven of Thorp, Frank of Lublin and Leon Jr., salesman for Swift of Evansville, Ind., one daughter, Mrs. Amelia Lebiecki of Chicago, one brother, Walter Dus in Poland, and 8 grandchildren.
Interment took place in the parish cemetery at Lublin. Pallbearers were Albert Skalecki, Anton Dombrowski, Stanley Ogurek, Stanley Lewan, Severy Kendra and Peter Filipiak.
