Hendricks, Ann  (15 AUG 1920-14 NOV 2010)

 

Ann M. Hendricks, 90, Thorp, died on Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010, at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen. No services will be held. Interment of cremains will take place in Old St. Hedwig’s Catholic Cemetery, Thorp, at a later date.

 

Ann Marie Abramczk was born on Aug. 15, 1920, in the town of Resburg, rural Thorp, the daughter f Andrew and Mary (nee Cieciora) Abramczuk. She was  raised on the family farm in the town of Resburg, rural Thorp, received her elementary education at Resburg Grade School, and later graduated from Thorp High School. She married Anton "Tony" Hendrickson June 17, 1939, in Iowa. They farmed in the town of Mead, rural Thorp. She later worked at the Farmers Store, Thorp, as the main cashier and bookkeeper. in the fall of 1959, she became employed as a secretary at Thorp High School, and she worked there until her retirement. She had many interests, especially her flower gardens, reading, traveling with Tony, and she enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

 

Survivors include six children, Brian (Joan) Hendricks, Owen, Peggy (Ron) Benzschawel, West Dundee, Ill., Roger Hendricks, Greenwood, Sandra (Cliff) Schofield, Greenwood, Bonnie (Ray) Hollinger, York, Pa., and Mark Hendricks, Rockford, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Debra (Bruce Kirn) Schofield, Greenwood, Tammy (Mike) Mircles, Hainesville, Ill., Scott Schofield, Marengo, Ill., Kimberly (Patrick) Easterday, LaGrange Park, Ill., Kristine (David) Engel, Chicago, Ill., Steven Benzschawel, Aurora, Ill., Rebecca Hollinger, York, Pa., and Jason Hendricks, Stevens Point; four great- grandchildren, Trista Sepp, Marshfield, Max Mircles, Hainesville, Ill., and Ryan Easterday and Kaitlyn Easterday, LaGrange, Park, Ill.; one great-great grandson, Kaden Lewis, Marshfield; one sister-in-law, Adella Abramczuk, Lyons, Ill.; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tony, on Oct. 26, 2010; one daughter, Karen Hendricks; six brothers, Alois "Brownie," August, Adam, Tony, Lawrence and Alexander Abramczuk; and four sisters, Harriet Nelson, Viola Koher, Paula Buczynski and Louise Kaleta.
