Buchholz, Caroline E. (Marriage - 28 May 1960)

Miss Caroline E. Buchholz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred E. Buchholz of Neillsville, Rt. 3, and Lawrence Carl Spaete, son of Mrs. Florence Spaete of Neillsville, was given in marriage by her father, on May 28, at 2 p.m. in a double ring ceremony at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.  The Rev. Norman Lindloff officiated.

The church was decorated with bouquets of white and lavender lilacs, and green and white bows were pinned on the pews.

The bride wore a lace and tulle floor-length gown. The Sabrina neckline sparkled with sequins.  Long, tapered lace sleeves pointed up the fitted Basque.  The skirt was a graceful bouffant of alternate tiers of lace and gossamer sheer tulle.  Her queen’s crown of sequins and pearls held a veil of silk illusion. Her bouquet was of red sweetheart roses, combined with lilies of the valley and ribbon.

Bridesmaids were Dorothy Zickert, a niece, Dorothy Gutenberger, a cousin, and Patricia Kuechenmeister, a friend. They wore mint green gowns, floor length. The strapless bodices were covered with bolero jackets.  They wore matching daisy cloches with blush veils.

The flower girl was Shirley Meihak, a niece.

Bestman was Leland Appleyard.  Ushers were Frederick Gutenberger and Denis Kuechenmeister, and ringbearer was Frederick Buchholz, a nephew.

Robert Mitte, accompanied by Victor Lehman sang, "O Perfect Love," and "The Lord’s Prayer."

The reception was held at the Weston Town Hall, for about 200 guests. The hall was decorated with green and white streamers and bouquets of lilacs.  Honeysuckle bouquets decorated the tables.

The couple is honeymooning in northern Wisconsin and Niagara Falls, N. Y. and when they return they will make their home in Neillsville.
