Davis, Clarence (2 May 1911 - 30 May 1960)

 

Clarence R. Davis, 49, of Rt. 2, Neillsville, died Monday morning at Memorial Hospital following an illness of several months.  He was the son of the late John and Minnie (Griffith) Davis and was  born May 2, 1911, at Corwin, Kans.  He lived at Wichita and Hutchinson, Kans., before coming to Wisconsin in 1929.

 

On November 5, 1938, he was married to Dorothy Gorzelitz in the Town of Levis. They lived on a farm near Greenwood until 12 years ago, when they moved to a farm in Levis.  He was a construction worker for the past nine years.

 

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife and the following children: Clarence Davis, Jr., with the U. S. Air Force stationed at Duluth, Minn.; Diane Davis in New York; Mary, Robert, Louise, Kenneth, Allen, Janice and Richard, all at home.  He is also survived by two sisters and one brother: Alverna, Mrs. Ladd Matousek of Neillsville, Mrs. Jean Luvisi of Louisville, Ky., and Jack Davis of Seattle, Wash.

 

His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.

 

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Bergemann Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank B. Harcey, pastor of the United Church of Christ, officiating.  Interment will be made in the Levis Cemetery.  The body will repose at the Bergemann Funeral Home until time of the services.
