Greenwood Schools Hi-Lites (Bus Drivers - 1960)
Greenwood Community school bus drivers have completed another perfect, accident-free year. Principal Fonstad reports - "Our buses traveled over 102,000 miles, or the equivalent of over four times around the world during the 1959-60 school year. The district operated 10 buses, transporting children to four elementary schools and the high school. In addition six private contractors transported children to the rural schools of the district without accident.
"Three of the high school bus drivers have perfect accident-free records for the past seven years that the district has owned buses. They are John Jasurda, Ed Brumbaugh and Giles Susa. Frank Lamovec has driven a Willard bus for 17 years with a perfect record."
"Other bus drivers in the district are Lawrence Cox, John Gatz - high school: Joseph Starasenic, Rocky Run; Don Tieman, Jr., and Henry Nielsen, Eaton Center; and private carriers - Joe Ulesich, West Eaton School; Ken Hium, Benjamin School; Ted Krei, Braun Settlement School; Leo Olson, Hemlock School; Art Turnquist, Christopherson School; and Joe Hribar, Blackberry School."
