Hedler, Anne (Marriage - 11 June 1960)

Mr. and Mrs. David L. Guell, newlyweds of Thorp, will set themselves up next week in an apartment at Menomonie. There the bride, the former Anne Hedler will complete her senior year in home economics at Stout Institute, and the groom will temporarily continue his service for the state highway department, Eau Claire division.  Later Mr. Guell will complete his remaining semester at Northwestern University for his degree in civil engineering.

The young couple both well known in Clark County, were married June 11 at the Methodist Church in Thorp.  The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hedler, who’s ownership of the Auto Café have gained for them a wide acquaintance.  The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Corwin C. Guell, who are known for their church, school and hospital activities.  Mr. Guell has represented the county in the state assembly; is a vice president and director of, and attorney for, Thorp Finance Corporation.

Rev. Arvid Morey of Cumberland performed the double ring ceremony.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of embroidered white silk organza over pink satin. The gown had a fitted bodice with a V-neckline, draped with embroidered organza.  Her veil of blush pink, was attached to a Juliet cap.  She carried a bouquet of Lilies of the Valley, surrounding white gardenias.

The bestman was John Klauda, a friend, of Thorp.  Ushers were Charles Peruchini, of Mountain, Mich., Keith Glasshof and David Gill.  Kurt Misfeldt, a nephew of the groom, was ring-bearer.  Mona Misfeldt, a niece of the groom, was flower girl.

A reception for about 200 guests was held in the Methodist Church parlors.

The newlyweds honeymooned on a trip along the Mississippi River.

Out of town guests were from Minneapolis and Northfield, Minn., Iron Mountain and Detroit, Michigan, Milwaukee, Janesville, Fond du Lac, Ellsworth, Menomonie, and Hudson.
