Markham, Rolla (? - June 1960)

Word has been received of the death of Rolla Markham, 95, at Sunset Nursing Home in Fairchild.  Mr. Markham will be remembered by the older folks as a resident here some years ago. The family lived on the farm now operated by Leo Printz, and later on lived in the village.

He was born in New York State and at the age of three, with his parents, came to Fairchild.  He farmed in the Humbird and Fairchild areas for many years.  Later he was a mail and express carrier in Augusta for 35 years.

He is survived by two sons, Ardell of Augusta and Forrest of Racine; six daughters, Mrs. Coyla Langworthy and Mrs. Muzetta Olson, Osseo; Mrs. Bessie Phillips, Marshfield; Mrs. Viva Sheen, Eau Claire; Mrs. Herbert Runios, Superior; and Mrs. Alexandria Ward of Springfield, Va.; a sister, Mrs. Etta Beede of Merrillan; and 24 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.

Funeral servicers were held Tuesday by the Rev. T. Sidney Beavau.  Burial was made in Fairchild Cemetery.
