Humbird, Wisconsin (23 June 1960)
Mrs. Pearl Johnson and daughter, Mrs. Fred Olson and baby, Lynn, drove to Eau Claire Friday afternoon. Saturday morning at 7 a.m. Mrs. Olson and baby boarded a plane for Chicago, enroute to New York and Germany, where her husband is stationed with the Air Force. Saturday evening she telephoned her mother, stating she had a wonderful trip to New York City and that her friends, Mr. and Mrs. David Walker, had met her at the airport in Chicago and had entertained her at dinner. Mrs. Olson left Sunday for Germany.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Newton accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Thane Joos and family of Alma Center to Eau Claire Sunday, where Mr. Newton entered Luther Hospital to be prepared for major surgery Wednesday. The Joos’ and Mr. Newton were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Nelson in Eau Claire.
The Methodist Sunday school children and teachers, with other members of the church, enjoyed a picnic at Hatfield Sunday. The children enjoyed roller skating in the afternoon. Rev. Serr and family and Mrs. Hemmy from St. John’s Church were guests.
Mrs. Jack Gephart is quite ill with pneumonia and is in Memorial Hospital at Neillsville. She was taken there Friday by Mr. and Mrs. John Greub.
