Lawrence, Ross (Triple Honors - 1960)

Ross Lawrence, Thorp banker, is receiving triple honors in celebration of his fifty years of banking service.  The first event was a party, given Tuesday evening, June 14, by the staff of the Peoples Exchange Bank of Thorp, of which Mr. Lawrence is president.  On that occasion he was presented a silver try, upon which were engraved the autographs of all the members of the bank staff.

The second honor came Monday evening in Milwaukee, when he received recognition from the Wisconsin Bankers Association, as foretold in last week’s Clark County Press.  The third was a dinner given him Tuesday evening of this week by the directors of the Peoples Exchange Bank.  This took place at the Milwaukee Athletic Club.

The parties for Mr. Lawrence have been enlivened by some of the stories of his experiences.  Among the choicest of these was the account of how he as a very young banker fully conscious of his responsibilities, undertook to lock out of the bank, a public official, whose sworn duty was to examine it.
