Carl, Marla Ann (Marriage - 1960)

Nuptial vows were repeated Sunday evening in the Mission Gospel Church, Greenwood, uniting in marriage Miss Marla Ann Carl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Carl of Neillsville, and Racine, and Tim J. Dunn of Racine, son of Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Dunn of Greenwood.

The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Ratzleff before an altar adorned with baskets of red and white roses.

The bride approached the altar attired in a floor-length gown of white embroidered silk organza, fashioned with a full bouffant skirt. The three tiers of the skirt, which fell in a chapel sweep, were double scalloped.  The fitted bodice, with scalloped scoop neckline, was fashioned with arm-hugging long sleeves.  A Queen’s crown of silk organza was outlined with twists of pearls, and sparking sequins held the imported silk illusion fingertip veil.  She carried a heart-shaped bouquet of two white orchids, surrounded by red rosebuds, with satin and nylon net streamers cascading from the bouquet.

Attending her as matron of honor was Mrs. June Ferguson of Chattanooga, Tenn., aunt of the groom.  She wore a pale blue dress of silk organdy, fashioned with a ballerina a-length harem skirt.  The low fitted bodice had a Sabrina neckline.  Her bouquet consisted of red and white roses.

The groom chose his brother, Michael Dunn, as bestman.

Attending as flower girl was Kathy Seif of Neillsville, a friend. She wore a dress of embossed white nylon with a scalloped hemline, edged in lace as was the Peter Pan collar. She carried a basket of rosebuds and Lilies of the Valley.  Malcolm Dunn, brother of the groom, carried the rings on a white satin pillow.

Nuptial music was played by Miss Kay Kavanaugh of Greenwood.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the bride’s home in Neillsville.

The bride is a graduate of the 1960 class of Neillsville High School, and the groom was graduated from the Greenwood High School.  The young couple will reside at 2326 Hansen Ave., Racine.

Among those from away attending the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Harry Carl and sons, Jon, Bruce, Dennis and Alan of Racine.
