Brecht, Margaret  (25 JUNE 1949)

Miss Margaret Brecht, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brecht of Marshfield, and Adolph Gorke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Gorke of Marshfield, were married on Saturday, June 25, . Celebrating the 9 a.m. nuptial mass at St. John’s Catholic church was the Very Rev. Fr. M. J. Kelnhofer.

Mrs, Peter Brecht of Loyal of Loyal was matron of honor for her sister-in-law. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Elroy Huebner of Wausau, sister-in-law of the bride, and Mrs. Guy Rustad of Marshfield, sister of the groom.

Peter Brecht, brother of the bride, acted as best man. Other attendants were Jerome Brecht of Loyal, another brother, and Alfred Gorke of Chicago, brother of the groom. Ushers were Don Trossen and James Laughlin of Marshfield.

The bride’s white satin gown featured a sweetheart neckline outlined with seed pearls, long sleeves and a full skirt en train. Her lace-edged fingertip veil was caught to a seed pearl headdress, and the bridal bouquet consisted of red and white roses and swansonia.

Nile green, yellow and orchid marquisette gowns of similar style were worn by the bridal aides. Completing their outfits were matching blusher veils and elbow length mitts. They carried bouquets of pink and white carnations.

A noon dinner at the Marshfield armory was served to 100 guests, followed by a reception and a dance in the evening.

Both young people are graduates of the Marshfield high school. Mrs. Gorke also, graduating from Central State Teachers college in Stevens Point. She taught at Park Falls the past year and the next year will teach at Spencer. Mr. Gorke is employed by the Louis Trosen company in Marshfield.

After they return from a northern Wisconsin and Canadian honeymoon, the couple will reside at 508 East Fifth street, Marshfield.

To the newlyweds, The Loyal Tribune extends its wishes for a long and happy married life.
