Baskets of peonies and mock orange blossoms decorated the altar of the First Evangelical Lutheran church in Ripon at 7 p.m. on Monday. June 13, for the marriage of Miss Charlotte Ann Beier, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Beier of Ripon, and Raymond Wehrman of Hamilton, Cal., son of Mr. and Mrs. Will Wehrman of Greenwood. The Rev. E. E. Schieler officiated at the double-ring candlelight ceremony.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. For her wedding, she chose a gown of white satin, fashioned with a nylon yoke with a lace-trimmed cuff over the shoulders. The skirt front had a peek-a-boo effect, gathered up in front to reveal a hoop of tiered lace. The soft folds of the skirt swept into a long train, with inserts of lace. Her fingertip lace-edged veil was fastened to a crown of seed pearls. Her bouquet was composed of white roses, centered with roses of yellow shade.

Mrs. John Gabrovic of Neillsville, sister of the groom, was matron of honor, wearing a Nile green Marquisette over taffeta, fashioned with a drop shoulder effect and full skirt. Mrs. Violet Cluppert of Ripon acted as bridesmaid for her friend, wearing an orchid-styled gown like that worn by the matron of honor. The junior bridesmaids were Miss Lesla Loechelt of Milwaukee and Miss Kathleen Schmuhl of Fairwater, cousins of the bride, in yellow and blue. All wore matching headdresses and carried bouquets of sweet peas, centered with a rose of yellow shade.

Kenneth Beier, brother of the bride, acted as best man for the groom. John Gabeovic also attended the groom.

Following the ceremony, 230 guests were served dinner in the church dining room. Later a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.

Guests at the wedding were from Berlin, Fond du Lac, Wautoma, Oshkosh, Greenwood, Loyal, Milwaukee, Chicago, Fairwater and Ripon.

The bride is a graduate of the Ripon high school and has been employed at the Ripon knitting factory. The groom attended school in Greenwood.

Mr. and Mrs. Wehrman left for Hamilton, where the former is stationed with the medical corps at the base hospital of Hamilton Field.
