Ratzburg, Martha ( 27 MAY 1881-23 SEPT 1949)
Mrs. Martha Ratzburg, 68, died at her home in the town of Loyal at 5:55 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23. She suffered a stroke five days earlier.
Mrs. Ratzburg, nee Schaeffner, was born on May 27, 1881, and received her education in Loyal public schools. She married Oscar Ratzburg at the home of her parents on Apr. 7, 1901, and lived in her present home ever since
Surviving besides her husband, are four sons, Louis of Loyal, Edwin of San Diego, Cal., and Elmer and Rueben on the home farm; three grandchildren and three brothers, Edward and Charles Schaeffner of Granton and William Schaeffner of Bonners Ferry, Ida; and four sisters Mrs. Mary Jahr of Deerfield, Mrs. John Lindner of Loyal, Mrs. Emil Lemke of Greenwood and Mrs. John Young of Stanley.
Mrs. Ratzburg was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church, where services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday by the Rev. C. Lane Bolz. Burial was in the Lutheran cemetery.
Mrs. Romaine Rossow and Mrs. Emma Rottier sang "Heaven Is My Home." "Asleep in Jesus," and "Nearer My God To Thee," accompanied at the organ by Dorothy Capelle.
Pallbearers were Fred Cox Sr., Ed Haslow, August Witt, Henry Lemke, Harry Voss and Otto Lemke. Those in charge of floral offerings were Mrs. August Witt, Mrs. Henry Lemke, Mrs. Ed Haslow and Mrs. Harry Voss.
The Tribune extends to the bereaved its sympathy in the loss of a beloved relative.
