Miss Janice Cook of Eau Claire, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Cook of Loyal, and Harry Owen Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Owen of Eau Claire, were united in marriage at the Loyal Methodist church on Saturday, Sept. 17. The Rev. Lee Holmes officiated.
The bride’s entrained gown of white satin was styled with a fitted bodice and a net yoke edged with Chantilly lace. Her hip-length veil was also edged with the lace. She carried a bouquet of res roses and white mums.
Mr. and Mrs. Loraine Cook, brother and sister-in-law of the bride, attended as best man and matron of honor. Mrs. Cook was attired in an aqua-taffeta gown, with matching hat and accessories, and carried pink asters.
Attending as bridesmaid was Miss Margaret Peterson of Eau Claire, who was gowned in yellow taffeta with matching hat. Her bouquet was composed of orchid and yellow asters.
The bride’s niece, Sandra Cook, was flower girl. She appeared in a white taffeta gown and carried a miniature bouquet similar to the bride’s.
Jim Owen served as his brother’s other attendant, while the bride’s brother, Emery Cook, filled the role of usher. Soloist at the ceremony was Miss Virgene Olsen.
Following the ceremony at the church, a reception for relatives and friends was held at the home of the Bride’s parents.
Mrs. Olsen is a graduate of the Loyal high school, with the class of 1945. Her husband graduated from the Eau Claire high school.
After a honeymoon in northern Wisconsin and Minnesota, the couple will reside in Eau Claire, where both are employed –the groom by the International Co. and the bride by the Hobbs Supply Co.
To the newlyweds, The Loyal Tribune extends its wishes for a long and happy married life.
