Westaby, Maxine Evelyn (Marriage - 18 June 1960)
Miss Maxine Evelyn Westaby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James G. Westaby of Rt. 2, Stanley, and William Dean Alger of Rt. 3 Thorp, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Alger of Thorp, exchanged nuptial vows June 18 at the Epithian Lutheran Church in Thorp, with the Rev. Olson in charge of a double ring ceremony.
Miss Joan Alger, sister of the groom was maid-of-honor. The bride’s sister-in-law, Betty Westaby, was the bridesmaid. The groom chose Dale Westaby of Chicago, Ill., brother of the bride, as bestman. Groomsman was also a brother of the bride, Charles Westaby. Ushers were Gerald Westaby, brother of the bride and Jerry Alger, brother of the groom.
Roberta Peterson sang, "The Lord’s Prayer".
A wedding reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Westaby.
The bride is a graduate of Stanley High School; the groom, of Thorp High School.
The couple will make their home on Rt. 3, Thorp.
Out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Rogowski of St. Paul, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. William Westaby, of Minneapolis, Minn,; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Klein, Illinois; Mrs. Kathryn Elliott of Chippewa Falls; Frank Brady of St. Paul, Minn., Mrs. Ella Romlet of Minneapolis; Mrs. Marvin Hurley of Colfax; Mr. and Mrs. Merl McCartney and Alice and Ellsworth of Belleview, Ia.
