Goerg, Lawrence R. (21 JUL 1917 - 10 DEC 2010)

COLBY -- Lawrence R. Goerg, 93, of Colby and formerly of Medford, died Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at the Colonial Center.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford. Military rites will be performed by the Medford Military Honors Team. Inurnment will take place in Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hemer Funeral Home.

He was born July 21, 1917, in Medford to John Goerg and Kunda Heier. He was married to Evelyn Long on Dec. 5, 1943, in Cheyenne, Wyo.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II until October 1945. Lawrence then worked at Mondeaux Lumber Co. (later Weather Shield) in Medford until he retired in 1982.

He is survived by his son, Patrick (Sonya) Goerg of DeForest, one grandchild and one great-grandchild. He is further survived by his brother, Herb (Rita) Goerg of Medford and his sister, Luicella Goerg of Medford.
