Faucett, Penny Walker (20 JUL 1957)

Penny Walker Faucett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Faucett, became the bride of Ronald Lee Cornwall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Cornwall, all of Stevens Point, in a double ring ceremony performed by Rev. father Keegan at 9:00 o’clock Saturday morning, July 20^th, 1957, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at Stevens Point.

The bride was attired in a ballerina length gown of shell patterned lace over satin with long sleeves ending in a point.  Inlays of tulle enhanced the lines of the bodice with the fully shirred skirt edged with the natural scallop of the lace.  Her elbow length veil was caught with a Carmen tiara of sequins and she wore the groom’s gift of a string of pearls.  She carried a colonial bouquet of white gardenias surrounded by pink sweetheart roses and stephanotis.

The matron of honor, Mrs. Max Reeta, sister of the bride, and bridesmaid, Myrna Cornwell, sister of the groom of Stevens Point, wore dresses of pink lace over taffeta, ballerina length fashioned with Italian neckline and full pleated skirts.  Both wore cummerbunds of pleated pink taffeta and bandeaus of pink nylon tulle loops caught with pearls.

The flower girl, Jane Froehlke of Stevens Point, was dressed in a short sleeved full skirted dress of white dotted nylon with pink taffeta sash and wore a white hat of white dotted nylon tied with pink taffeta streamers.

Max Reetta served as best man and John Walker Faucett, brother of the bride, as groomsman.

The church altars were decorated in multi-colored gladiolas and white snowball for the occasion.

Following the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served at the home of the groom’s parents and dinner was served to immediate relatives and close friends at the Hot Fish Shop in the St. George Hotel at 12:30 o’clock.  A reception with 125 guests was held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the coral room of the hotel.

An "after rehearsal" cocktail party was given by the bride’s parents on Friday evening with 20 guests attending from Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), Milwaukee, Davenport, Ia., Stevens Point and Baltimore, Md.

Both bride and groom were graduates of the P.J. School at Stevens Point, and the groom is now associated with his father in Cornwell’s TV Repair Shop as a TV Technician.

Pre-nuptial social events included showers given by Mrs. Max Rutta and Mrs. Irv Lepak with 30 girls from Miss Faucett’s graduating class attending at Stevens Point, and showers at Thorp given by the bride’s maternal grandmother, Mrs. John G. Bogumill and by Mrs. Lief Larson.

The couple is spending their honeymoon on a trip to Niagara Fall, New York, Washington, D.C. and Canada.  For her going away attire the bride wore a beige sheath and jacket with beige and white accessories.  They will be at home to their friends after August 1^st at 117 East Ave., Stevens Point, Wis.
