Flynn, Judith (Marriage - 6 August 1960)

Judith Lee Flynn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Durward Walker of Fairchild, and Gary Neil Gilbertson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Gilbertson of Kenosha, were married August 6, in Fairchild in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father M. J. Molinaro in charge of the double ring ceremony.

The bride wore a gown of white shiffli, embroidered and styled with a square neckline and a dropped torso bodice that billowed into a wide duster flounce.  The bouffant skirt fell into a chapel length sweep.  An open, pearl-trimmed queen’s crown held her elbow length veil.  She carried a bouquet of red and white roses tied with ivy.  Tiny rosebuds cascaded from the bouquet on white ribbons.

Caroline Prock of Neillsville, a cousin of the bride, was maid of honor; and Virginia Hansen of Milwaukee, also a cousin, and Janet Flynn of Fairchild, a sister, were bridesmaids.  All wore gowns of light blue silk organza over taffeta. Their gowns had bateau necklines and cap sleeves.

John Balliett of Augusta, a friend of the groom, was bestman.  Ushers were Loren Raither, Melnard Hansen and Earl Hall.  Steven Walker, a brother of the bride was the ringbearer, and Diane Walker a cousin, was flower girl.

A reception was held at the Fairview Church, which was decorated with blue and white streamers and white wedding bells.  About 180 attended.

The couple will honeymoon first at Chicago and then in northern Wisconsin.

The bride is a graduate of the Fairchild High School, and the groom of Augusta High.

They plan to make their home in Kenosha, where the groom is employed.

Out of town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Baldwin, Mrs. Martha Flynn, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Larsen, Mr. and Mrs. Al Lala, all of St. Paul; Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Haskins of Clarion, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Cad Hall and Mr. and Mrs. Gaines Hall of Wisconsin Rapids.
