Rheingans, John (27 DEC 1875 - 30 AUG 1957)

John Rheingans, 81, Chippewa Falls, route 3, father of Mrs. Clarence Ruff of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), passed away Friday afternoon at Luther Hospital in La Crosse.

He was born Dec. 27, 1875 in the town of Eagle Point.  Prior to his marriage he worked in a grain elevator in Chippewa Falls.  On June 19, 1912, he was united  in marriage to Miss Emma Misfeldt of Chippewa Falls.  They moved to Eagle Point where he owned and operated a grain elevator for over 30 years, after which he retired.

He continued to live in Eagle Point until November of 1956 when he moved to La Crosse where he made his home with his son, John.

He was a lifetime member of the St. John English Lutheran Church at Eagleton.

He is survived by a son, John of La Cross; three daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Erva) Ruff of Thorp, Mrs. Glen (Esther) Popple of Sheboygan and Mrs. William (Dorthea) Springer of Anoka, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Reinehard Heidtke, route 5, Chippewa Falls; two brothers, Charles of Eagle Point, and Fred of Waukesha.
