Warrell, Marion E. (24 AUG 1957)

On Saturday evening, Aug. 24, 1957, Miss Marion Elizabeth Warrell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William C. Warrell of East Barnet, Vermont, became the bride of Robert Vernon Daines, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Daines of Thorp (Clark County), Wis., in a candlelight ceremony at the First Presbyterian Church of Anaheim, Calif.  The Rev. Robert Van officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The bride was escorted to the altar by Dr. Charles V. Schultz of Anaheim.  Her waltz length gown was of nylon organza over taffeta, appliqued with lace and sequins on the fitted bodice, long pointed sleeves and bouffant skirt.  Her elbow length veil fell from a net crown appliqued with sequins and seed pearls to match the gown.  The pearls she wore were a wedding gift from the groom.  She carried a cascade bouquet of white rosebuds and stephanotis, centered with a dark throated white orchid.

Attired in a gown of aqua silk organdy over taffeta was the maid of honor, Miss Alma L. Warrell, sister of the bride, from East Barnet, Vermont.  A matching hat and the cascade bouquet of pink rosesbuds which she carried completed her outfit.  The best man was the bridegroom’s cousin, Clayton Daines of Capistrano Beach, Calif.  The ushers were Richard Flaherty of Los Angeles and Robert Flanagan of Anaheim.

Mrs. Warrell chose a dress of pink lace and white accessories for her daughter’s wedding.  She wore a corsage of pink rosebuds.  The bridegroom’s mother wore charcoal silk shantung with white accessories and a corsage of pink rosebuds.

Preceding the ceremony the organist, Mrs. William Talevich, played nuptial music.  Miss Alma Warrell sang "Because" and "The Lord’s Prayer."

A large basket of white stock with pink and white gladioli and tall candelabra with white candles decorated the altar.  White candles and white ribbons and bows lined the aisle.

A reception immediately following the ceremony was held in the garth of the church.  After the bride and groom cut the wedding cake about 59 guests were received by the wedding party.  Mrs. Charles Schultz, Miss Dorothy Gerlich and Mrs. Robert Koontz served refreshments of wedding cake, punch and coffee.  Mrs. Roberta Kendrick was in charge of the guest book.

The bride chose a dress of aqua cupioni and cotton with white accessories for the wedding trip.  After motoring through southern California, Mr. and Mrs. Daines will be at home at Apr. D, 523 West Vermont St., Anaheim, Calif.

The bridegroom served in Korea with the United States Marine Corps and graduated from the Los Angeles Police Department.

The bride was the guest of honor at a pre-nuptial shower given by Mrs. Charles Schutz, Miss Dorothy Gerlich, and Mrs. Werner Walter of Anaheim.  Mrs. Roberta Kendrick and Miss Dorothy Gerlich were hostesses at a luncheon given to honor Miss Warrell at the …(the rest of my article was unreadable)
