Benzschawel, Judith (7 SEP 1957)
Miss Judith Benzschawel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Benzschawel, 8913 So. Central ave., Oak Lawn, Ill., became the bride of Joseph Laska, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Laska of 5232 So. Mead, Chicago, Ill., on Saturday, Sept. 7, 1957, at St. Gerald’s Catholic Church, Oak Lawn, Ill.
Rev. Father O’Brian performed the 2:00 p.m. double ring ceremony in front of the altar decorated with white candles and white mums and gladioli.
To beautiful traditional wedding music, the bride was escorted to the altar by her father.
She was lovely in a long tapered sleeve princess style dress made of Cuplone lace, trimmed with a scalloped Italian lace neckline. A sequin and pearl trimmed Juliet cap held the silk fingertip illusion veil. She carried a powder puff cascade of white carnations and pink roses, with an orchid nestled in the center.
Miss Arlene Fiedler, a friend of the bride, was maid of honor, and Marlene Michalik, also a friend, was bridesmaid.
They wore identical ballerina length sea foam colored net dresses with lace bodices, and sea foram feather caps to match.
They carried cascades of white and aqua colored mums.
Edward Laska, brother of the groom, was best mand, and Wayne Korfron, friend of the groom, ushered.
A 6:00 o’clock dinner for about 100 guests was given by the bride’s parents.
The young couple planned a wedding trip through northwester Wisconsin.
