Himes, Arthur (? - 19 August 1960)

Arthur Himes, who had lived in Withee for the last 15 years, died at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, Friday night at the age of 87 years.

He had had surgery performed, but his age and the fact that he has been a semi-invalid for the last two years hastened his death.

His wife died about 15 years ago; and three of his 12 children preceded him in death. They were, Wallace, Leonard and Nathalia.

Those surviving are: Mrs. Clifford (Laurette) Brenemen of Ray, Minn.; Mrs. Wm. (Alma) Lange of Los Angeles; Mrs. Hubert (Minnie) Broun of Hayville, Kans.; Mrs. Paul (Hazel) Acker of Greenwood; Mrs. Wm. (Stella) Craig of Owen; Arthur, Jr., of Owen; Lester of Withee; Robert of Ray, Minn.; and Delmar of Finland, Minn.

In his younger years Mr. Himes lived on a farm near Greenwood, later moving onto a larger farm near Longwood, which at present is owned by his son, Arthur, Jr.

Funeral services were held from the Owen Funeral Home, with the Rev. Stone officiating. Burial was made beside his wife in the Greenwood Cemetery.
