Robert L. Badzinski, age 74, of Tonka Bay, MN, went to be with his Lord on November 30, 2010. He was preceded in death by parents Louis and Rozella; and first wife, Diane.
Survivors include his wife, Rita; son, Joel; stepsons: Randy, Roger and Carl Schmidt; grandchildren: Stephanie, Laura, Carter, and Kendall; siblings: Louis (Bev.), Joanna Ebben, Gene (Bunny), Kathy (Don) Soderberg, Germaine (John) Klouda, Rosemary (Gerald) Szymanski, Louella (Don) Zahn and Marcy (Keith) Lindstrom; also, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Robert was known as "Pee Wee" to his many friends in Thorp. He loved sports and played basketball and baseball and was a team manager for football. He graduated from Thorp High School in 1953.
Robert attended UW-River Falls for one year before joining the Navy, where he served as an aviation mechanic and was aboard the U. S. S. Midway. He remained proud of his service throughout his life. He completed his college education at UW-Stout after being honorably discharged from the Navy.
Robert worked as a researcher and salesman/technician for Ecolab (Economics Laboratory) in St. Paul, MN. He traveled throughout the Minneapolis-St. Paul area and made many good friends among his co-workers and clients.
He was active in the Catholic churches where he lived in Cottage Grove, MN, and Mound, MN and volunteered as an usher, lector, and communion server and was on parish committees.
Robert had many hobbies, including fishing, sports, home projects, photography and reading. He especially loved spending time with his family, who will always remember his generosity, sense of humor and caring and love for all he was close to.
A funeral service was held December 6, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Mound, MN. Interment was held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
