Schultz, Ruby Anna (28 February 1918 - 11 December 2010)
Ruby Schultz, 92, of Neillsville died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
Ruby Anna Marth was born Feb. 28, 1918, to Joseph and Bertha (Lorenz) Marth on the five-generation farm in the Town of Pine Valley, where she lived her entire lifetime. Ruby attended Hillside Grade School and Neillsville High School. Following graduation in 1936, she attended teacher’s training and taught in Clark County Rural Schools. June 10, 1941, Ruby was united in marriage with Leonard A. Schultz at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. They lived their married life on the farm where they raised their four children. In 1977, they sold the farm to their son, Marcus and wife Mary Beth and semi retired to their new home they built on the farm. Ruby continued to enjoy her teaching years in the classroom at Sunburst Youth Homes, Willard, and Greenwood Elementary Schools retiring in 1981.
Ruby was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, PCCW, and served as a CCD teacher. She was an active member and officer of Neillsville Senior Citizens. Ruby and Leonard enjoyed years of traveling together in retirement and later she traveled with friends. She loved gardening, canning, quilting, sewing and growing flowers. Many happy hours were spent playing cards with friends.
Ruby was especially happy spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and greatly treasured their love and friendship.
She is survived by four children, Clemens J. (Sylvia) Schultz of Neillsville, Marcus (Mary Beth) Schultz of Neillsville, Mary Ann (Roger) Ingold of Neillsville and Lorene (Allen Christensen) Schultz of Madison; eight grandchildren, C. Joseph Schultz of Michigan, Jason Schultz of Arizona, Jon Schultz of South Korea, James (Sara) Ingold of Greenwood, Julie (Kurt) Anderson of Owen, Wendy (Travis) Zschernitz of Neillsville, Joseph M. (Haly) Schultz of Neillsville, and Jessie (Troy Klapatauskas) Schultz of Neillsville; six great-grandchildren, James, Lucas and Lauren Ingold, Tanner and Derek Zschernitz and Zeb Schultz.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard and her parents.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Ruby will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. The Celebrant will be Father Joseph Follmar. Music will be provided by Ronald Resong, organist and St. Mary’s Choir. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Neillsville. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with a 7:30 p.m. Knights of Columbus Rosary Service at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Visitation will also be held from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
