Neillsville, Wisconsin Locals (1 September 1960)

 

The W. S. C. S. of the Methodist Church served lunch Saturday to those attending the county teachers institute at the high school.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Lester Sutton and children of Barneveld visited several days last week at the Werner Jenni home.

 

Mrs. Ernest Karnitz visited friends in Minneapolis last weekend.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Karnitz entertained at their cottage Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Smetana and Lori of Black River Falls, Alvina Gault, June Gault and children, Ernest Karnitz and Jon, and Mr. and Mrs. Thone Karnitz.

 

Seventy-five people and 30 horses gathered at the Don Marg farm home in Pine Valley Sunday for a horse clinic and picnic.  Mr. Frikke of Loyal, who once served with the cavalry, told of his experiences and gave information on horsemanship. Due to an early afternoon rain, a trail ride had to be postponed.

 

Mrs. Jack Corey, who spent two weeks at the Mrs. Lee Corey home in Greenwood and the Gary Corey home here, returned to Huron, S. D. Sunday.  Jack Corey, who had been in camp for army reserves at Camp McCoy, joined her for the trip home.

 

Howard Dean Corey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Corey is visiting his grandmother, Mrs. Lee Corey, in Greenwood this week.  Lynn Corey has been confined to her home with mumps.

 

A going away party was held Monday afternoon to honor Keith Olson, six-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Allard Olson. The Olsons have moved to Minneapolis.  He is a fieldman for a farm equipment manufacturer. The family had made its home in Neillsville for the last three years.
