Nelson, Eric (15 Nov 1868 - 24 Sep 1913)
Eric Nelson died at a Marinette hospital last Wednesday, after having been ill with pneumonia for but a few days. He was born in Sweden Nov. 15, 1868, and at the age of 16 years he came to this country and shortly after settled near Shortville in Clark County, where he made his home ever since. Fourteen years ago he was united in marriage and to this union one daughter, Vila, was born, who survives both her parents, her mother having died four years ago. Some time ago Mr. Nelson was stricken with paralysis but seemed to be recovering and had made arrangements to leave the Marinette hospital and come home, when he caught a severe cold which developed into pneumonia. Mr. Nelson was a man of high moral integrity and was possessed of many very sterling qualities. He was sincere in his friendships and was universally liked by all who had known him either for many or few years.
The remains were brought here Saturday for burial and services were held Sunday afternoon at the Congregational Church and interment was made in the Neillsville Cemetery. Deceased is survived by his daughter, sister, Mrs. M. Knutson of Sister Bay, and brothers, Isaac of Sister Bay, Dan of Pausbo, Wash., and Peter of Monroe, Wash.
