Pleasant Ridge (9 Oct 1913)

Mrs. Joe Counsell entertained the Ladies Aid Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 8^th.

There was a surprise party at Sereno Wren’s last Wednesday evening for his son, Marion, who left Friday for Washington.  Every one had a good time.

John Waterman returned to Minneapolis Saturday morning.

Mrs. Mamie Lovelace returned home to Crandon Monday morning.  They were here to attend their father’s funeral Thursday.

Clara Dresher did sewing for Mrs. H.O. Huckstead last week.

Mrs. Blackmann, Laura Heaslett and Mrs. Wm. Wren called on Mrs. Mamie Lovelace Sunday afternoon.

Wm. Waterman and family spent Sunday with his brother, Ed Waterman, in Shortville.

Mrs. Waterman’s sister, Mrs. Hull, from Madison came Saturday for a two or three weeks visit.

Wm. West and family spent Sunday with his sister, Mrs. Albert Schultz.

Sadie Blackman of Columbia spent the weekend at home.

Mrs. Fred Raine and daughter drove to Nevins Friday after her daughter, Miss Myra Jahr, who returned to her school Monday morning.

Henry Hoesley of Neillsville spent the weekend with Clifford Blackman.

H.O. Huckstead drove to Granton last Thursday after Mr. Brown, the minister, to preach Wm. Waterman’s funeral sermon.  He spent the night with Geo. Vine and wife.

Clayton Vine and family spent Sunday at the home of John Vine.

Jim King’s team ran away Saturday while they were coming home from town.  Mrs. Geo. Swann jumped out and hurt her ankle quite badly.  A broken buggy and harness were the worst damage.  The team was stopped in Mr. Chase’s field.

Louie Marg’s brother, Will, is working for Arlo Huckstead this week.
