Neuhaus, Rose L. (29 September 1886 - 11 September 1960)

Mrs. Rose L. Neuhaus, 73, 306 Grand Ave. Neillsville, died here Sunday. She had been a hospital patient for several weeks. The Rev. Frank B. Harcey officiated at services held Wednesday from the United Church of Christ, of which she was a member.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Neuhaus was born September 29, 1886, in Defiance, O., where she was married to William F. Neuhaus on September 8, 1908.  After their marriage they moved to southern Wisconsin, where they farmed. They later came to Clark County and farmed near Colby.  They also operated a farm near Augusta before moving north of Neillsville in 1940.  In 1956 she moved into the city.

She is survived by the following children: Paul, La Crosse; Arthur, Milwaukee; Victor, Thiensville; Calvin, Iron Ridge; Mrs. Dorothy Danielson, Milwaukee; Arnold, Milwaukee; William, St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. Kenneth (Marion) Braeger, Gilman; Mrs. John (Mildred) Conrad, Alexandria, Minn.; and Mrs. Thomas (Rose) Peasley, Black River Falls; a sister, Mrs. Walter (Emma) Siebel of Defiance, O., and  brother, Arthur Winkler of Fostoria, O., and 19 grandchildren also survive.

The Georgas Funeral Home made funeral arrangements.

Services for Mrs. Rose L. Neuhaus, 73, were conducted September 14, from the United Church of Christ. The Rev. Frank B. Harcey officiated and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.  Six sons were the pallbearers: Paul, Arthur, Victor, Arnold, Calvin and William.

"Nearer My God to Thee" and "Abide With Me" were sung by Ellis Wall, accompanied by Mrs. Jess W. Scott at the organ.
