Kalsow, Diana (Marriage - 10 September 1960)

The wedding of Miss Diana Kalsow and Russell G. Wold took place Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Neillsville. The Rev. Norman Lindloff performed the ceremony before an altar adorned with baskets of gladioli and vases of asters. Chiffon bows were tied on the pews.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Kalsow of Rt. 3, Neillsville, and her husband is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Wold of Christie.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.  She approached the altar wearing a gown of nylon organza, fashioned with a sculptured neckline and short shirred sleeves.  Appliqués of sweetheart roses accented the elongated Basque. The full skirt was styled with a gracious chapel length train. Her double fingertip veil of silk illusion cascaded from a halo of orange blossoms, which was made by her aunt, Mrs. John Koss.  She carried a bouquet of stephanotis and pale pink angel feathers centered with a white orchid. The entire bouquet was encircled with a heart of pearls.

Miss Lois Kalsow, sister of the bride, was her maid of honor.  Bridesmaid was Miss June Kopplin, a close friend, of Eau Claire; and junior bridesmaid was Miss Linda Tews, a cousin of the bride, of Neillsville.  All three attendants wore identically-styled ballerina length dresses, designed with full circle skirts cut of white Rachel lace over pastel mint green taffeta. The bodices were joined with wide taffeta cummerbunds with wide large back bows and streamers. Their headpieces were crescents of pale pink rosebuds accented with tiny butterflies.  Each carried an arm basket of white gladioli and pink pompoms with butterflies.

Bestman was Bob Bell. Groomsman was Thomas Simon, Park Ridge, Ill., Master Craig Huddleston was junior groomsman.  Ushers were Glenn Suckow and Henry Kuester, both of Neillsville.

Twin cousins of the bride, Misses Pearl and Petra Kalsow, served punch at the wedding dinner held in St. John’s Lutheran School. An evening reception was held in the Legion Hall.

The bride and groom are both graduates of Neillsville High School.  He also attended classes at the Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis, Minn., and is in business with his father in Christie.  Mrs. Wold has been employed as a clerk in Neillsville.

On their return from a wedding trip to the Black Hills and Badlands of South Dakota, they will reside at 520 Hewett St. Neillsville.
