Wells, Grace (14 December 1876 - 16 September 1960)

Mrs. W. I. Wells, 83, died at her home in Greenwood September 16 after an illness of several months.  She was dismissed September 12 from the hospital in Marshfield, where she had been a patient for a month.

Mrs. Wells, nee Grace Lucele Freeman, daughter of Judson and Mary (Allen) Freeman, was born December 14, 1876, in Whitehall.

On December 25, 1894, she was married there to Willis Ira Wells.  They lived there until they came to Greenwood in 1911 and she had lived on the present farm, two miles northeast since.  Her husband died May 21, 1953.

Surviving are a son, Adelbert, on the home farm; a sister, Mrs. Bonnie Wellen of Rushmore, Minn.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from Grace Methodist Church, with the Rev. Gene W. Carlson officiating. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
