Goodel, Nelda (4 October 1920 - 3 September 1960)
Mrs. Clarence Goodel, 39, died September 3, at the DeWitt hospital after a year’s illness.
Mrs. Goodel, nee Nelda Decker, who has many relatives in Greenwood and is well known here, was born October 4, 1920, in Gerard, Mont. the daughter of Alfred and Amelia (Reineking) Decker. She was married May 7, 1945, at Coeur d’Alene, Ida. After their marriage they lived at Calamus before moving to DeWitt, Ia., 3 ½ years ago.
Funeral services were held September 6, in DeWitt, Ia. The Rev. Don Lichtenfelt of the Methodist Church of Calamus officiated. Burial was made in Calamus, Ia.
Those who attended the service from this area were: Mrs. Olga Reineking, Ferdinand Franz, Mrs. Erna Wehrman and Mrs. Ernest Elmer of Greenwood; Mrs. Dave Churkey of Owen; Mr. and Mrs. William Becker, Miss Selma Reineking and Mrs. Hans Kolpanen of Milwaukee.
Mrs. Goodel is survived by her husband: two sons, Donald and Robert; and a step-son, Clarence Goodel, Jr., all at home; her mother, Mrs. Amelia Decker of Decker, Mont.; a sister, Mrs. Irene Powell of Decker, Mont.; two brothers August Decker of Otter, Mont., and Leroy Decker of Colburn, Ida.
