Mrs. Norman Braatz was hostess at a shower for Ann Marie Sternitzky last week Wednesday at the Braatz home. A number of Ann Marie’s friends gathered for the afternoon. She plans to marry Marvin Schlinsog Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church. The Rev. L. E. Schreiber will officiate.
Jean Vine announces a 4-H club meeting will be held at the Town hall October 1 at 8:15 p.m.
Mrs. Dale Short was scheduled to host a postponed meeting of the Homemakers club today, Thursday.
Mary Howard spent last weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Verne G. Howard. She returned to Waconia, Minn., Sunday. Her sister rode to Minneapolis with her to enroll in a college of medical technology.
Hubert Yankee of Park Falls is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Verne G. Hoard. He has been ill and Mrs. Howard drove to Park Falls for him.
Bob Schmidt and Wayne Kurth spent Friday and Saturday in Milwaukee and witnessed the "no-hitter" thrown by Warren Spahn Friday night.
Mrs. Sadie (Blackman) Rudeen has returned to Denver, Colo., following a three-week visit with Mrs. Racie Selves, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Blackman and other relatives in the area.
Mr. and Mrs. Irving Vine entertained last weekend in honor of their daughter, Fern, on her 18th birthday. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Theamore Vine and family of the Town of Grant and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Kissinger of the Town of Fremont.
Archie Hughes and son, and Mrs. Bernard Freehill and daughter have returned to Lloydminster, Alberta, Can., following a week’s visit with Mr. and Mrs. James Hughes.
Mr. and Mrs. Larry Julien of River Falls visited in the area last weekend.
Mrs. Marian Kunze and Mr. and Mrs. James Hauge and children attended a birthday party at the Robert Kunze home September 13, honoring Bradley Kunze.
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Howard and John Anderson of St. Paul visited their aunt, Mrs. Racie Selves, last weekend. Mrs. Sadie (Blackman) Rudeen, who had been visiting Mrs. Selves, rode to St. Paul with them. She returned to Colorado.
Clarion Counsell reports a two-day rainfall of 1 ¾ inches last weekend.
