Truckload of Chickens (Overturns - 1960)
A trailer loaded with 2,744 chickens overturned shortly before midnight Tuesday on County trunk T, four and one-half miles north of Withee, killing about 100; but the driver was uninjured.
Traffic Officer David Bertz reported that Robert H. Wiczek of Rt. 2, Amherst, the driver, told him a wheel had locked and he lost control of the truck. The broilers had been picked up at the Ernest Duvall farm, north of Withee.
