Kraus, Seigfreid (Crash Changed Trip Plans - 1960)
Seigfreid Kraus, 26, who has been a patient at Memorial Hospital for nearly four weeks, received a communication from his boss, the owner of a nickel and brass mine at Lynn Lake, Manitoba, that he is looking forward to having Kraus return to his former work. Seigfreid used to work in mines in Germany. After hearing of good wages paid in Canada, he decided in 1958 to make the long trip. He started employment there that May, and remained on the job until August, 1960, when he started on a trip back to Germany to visit his family.
An accident on Highway 12, southeast of Fairchild, changed his plans. He is now recuperating from injuries sustained in the accident which killed his companion and left him with multiple fractures.
