A special Sunday school promotion service will be conducted by Dr. Clarence Fast of Zion, Ill., this (Thursday) evening at 8 p.m. at the Greenwood Gospel Mission Church, of which the Rev. E. H. Ratzloff is pastor.
The Busy Bees met Saturday afternoon. Ethel Kippenhan, president, was in charge of devotions. The topic discussed was on the meaning of "Education." Refreshments were served by Carol and Betty Schofield.
Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Severson and daughter, Carol, and Mrs. Elenor Plank were entertained Saturday evening at the home of Mrs. Helen Francis in Neillsville. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Plank of Neillsville, parents of Mrs. Francis.
Miss Marlene Metzke arrived Friday from Milwaukee for a 10-day visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Metzke. Miss Metzke will spend Monday and Tuesday at the Roy Pipkorn home in Unity.
The Christian family movement group met Sunday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Plautz.
Mr. and Mrs. Gary Rohde of Abbotsford visited last weekend at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Decker and sons spent last Thursday evening at the Esper Jepsen home in Rib Lake. Sunday evening the Stewarts visited in Stanley with their son, Robert Stewart and his family.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Verhulst, accompanied by his sisters, Miss Ruth Verhulst of Malaya and Mr. and Mrs. Celen Gotter of Loyal, drove to Baldwin Sunday to visit relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gordee entertained their four children and their families Saturday evening in honor of the birthday of Mr. Gordee. Supper and evening guests were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Biernet of Milwaukee, who spent from Wednesday until Sunday with her parents; and Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Gordee and family of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gordee and family and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Alperstett and family.
Mrs. Margaret Knopp of Burlington spent five weeks here with her brother, George Haeuser, and with other relatives here and at Loyal.
Henry Heller is spending some time with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schwarze.
Mrs. Lydia Dill is spending several weeks in Milwaukee with her sons, Norbert and Harvey Dill families.
Mr. and Mrs. Leon Kuester were Sunday dinner guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Catlin in Loyal.
Mrs. A. H. Noetzel was dismissed Sunday from the hospital, where she had been for a week.
Larry and Ruth Krainz, children of Mr. and Mrs. Val Krainz, have returned to Willard after spending a week here with their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. John Kaltinger.
