Jane E. Govek, 58, town of Hewitt, Marathon County, died on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 1, from3:30-8 p-.m.. and on Thursday, Dec. 2, from 10-11 a.m., at Bradley Funeral Home, Antigo. Afuneral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Thursday, Dec. 2, at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo. Rev. Charles Hoffmann will officiate. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery.

 

Jane Elizabeth Selner was born on July 4, 1952, in Wausau, to Ludwig and Ann (nee Zimmerman) Selner. She graduated from Antigo High School in 1970. She married John Govek on May 12, 1973, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Antigo. As a young lady, she worked as a waitress at Dixie Lunch. Following their marriage, she and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm in the town of Hewitt, for 26 years. She later worked as a waitress at X to C Supper Club and at the Hewitt-Texas Grade School. She and her husband enjoyed raising their sons and attending their many sporting events from Little League through college. She also cherished time on the water, fishing with her family, and beautiful sunsets.

 

Survivors include her husband, John; three sons, John Govek, Fulton, Ill., Robert Govek, Eagle River, and Ryan, Govek, Wausau; a sister, Judy (Jim) Kolz, Savage, Minn.; a brother, Ken (Sharon) Selner, Foristell, Mo.; and a sister-in-law, Darlene SAelner, Rothchild.

 

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Selner and John Selner.
