Miller, Johanna (29 November 1860 - 20 October 1960)

Funeral services were held Saturday from the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church for Mrs. Johanna Miller, 99, of Neillsville, who died here October 20.  The Rev. Norman Lindloff officiated.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Miller was born November 29, 1860, in Hamburg, Germany, and at the age of 14, came to America with her sister.  They located in New York, and for several years worked in Colden, N. Y.  Her marriage to Edward Miller took place December 11, 1882, in Hillsboro.

Mr. and Mrs. Miller resided in Vernon County for several years and in 1912 moved to Clark County. She had been a resident of Neillsville for 45 years.  She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Surviving are four children; Henry Miller, Nekoosa; Walter Miller, Town of Grant; Otto Miller, on the home farm Neillsville; and Mrs. Henry Zimmerman, Baraboo.  Other survivors are seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Harley E. Miller, Bobby G. Borden, George A. Borden, Don D. Morgan, Wilmer Scheel and Ray Kawalske.

Two Hymns, "I’m but a Stranger here," and "What a Friends we have in Jesus," were sung by Janice Greeler, accompanied by Victory Lehman at the organ.
