Bergmann, Anton Andrew (25 May 1888 - 18 October 1960)

A requiem Mass was read Friday morning at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fairview for Anton Bergmann, 72, Fairchild, who died October 18 in an Eau Claire hospital following a stroke.  The Rev. Fr. Mathew J;. Molinare officiated.  Burial was made in the Fairview Cemetery.

Anton Andrew Bergmann, son of the late Anton and Mary (Plankerman) Bergmann, was born May 25, 1888, in St. Paul, Minn.  When he was a small child his family moved to the Town of Mentor.  He received his education at Fairview and at the Techney Training School in Illinois, where he received training in maintenance work.  He did this type of work for two years at a sanitarium in Rome City, before entering the army on September 4, 1918.  He served until 1919.  After he received his discharge he started farming in the Town of Mentor.  In 1949 he moved to Fairchild.

On January 4, 1948, he was married to the former Rose Maeder at Fairview.  He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife; a brother, Mike Bergmann of West Allis; and four sisters: Miss Mary Bergmann, Fairchild; Mrs. Helen Blader, Wautoma; Mrs. Herman (Justina) Selz, Humbird; and Miss Agnes Bergmann.

Pallbearers, all nephews were: Robert Bergmann, David Blader, John, Warner, and William Selz and Isadore Zimmerman.  The Bergemann Funeral Home made funeral arrangements.

Military rites were conducted at the graveside. Those taking part were: Bob Bremer, Preston Brown, Jiggs Burns, Burt Hales, Al Janke, Rayce Kubana, H. W. Mueller, Ray Santo, Ray Schnitker, Louis Scholze, Alex Zimmerman and Oscar Zimmerman.

Selz and son, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Morris Harman and son, Wisconsin Rapids.

Blader, Helen T. (19 Apr 1901 – 23 Aug 1988)

Helen T. Blader, 87, Wautoma, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, August 23, 1988 at University Hospitals, Madison, Wisconsin.

She was born April 19, 1901 in the town of Merton (should have been Mentor), Clark County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Anton and Mary Katherine (Plankermann) Bergmann. She married Max A. Blader on June 2, 1930 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Wautoma. He preceded her in death on April 4, 1984.

She was a graduate of St. Joseph Fairview Elementary School and Fairchild High School. She attended the former Eau Claire State Teachers College, now UW-Eau Claire.. Mrs. Blader taught upper elementary school at Tyler, Minnesota and later at DaFoe School, Wautoma.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Wautoma, and a former member of the Catholic Order of the Forresters.

Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Laurence (Maxine J.) Donahue, Rumson, New Jersey, and Helen Marie Blader, Wautoma; two sons: Daniel M. (Patricia) Blader, Portage, and David J. (Loye) Blader, Whitefish Bay; 18 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in in death by her parents, five brothers and five sisters.

Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, August 25. Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, August 26, 1988 at Leikness Funeral Home, and at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Wautoma, with the Rev. Robert Karuhn officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Bio: Bergmann, Franz "Frank" Anton & Mary Katherine Plankermann Bergmann

Mary Katherine Plankermann was born 9 Feb 1861 in Oberhausen, Rhineland, Germany.  She married Franz "Frank" Anton Bergmann (23 Jun 1852) in January of 1882 at the Catholic Church, St. Paul, Ramsey Co., MN.  Frank was the son of Adolph and Theresia Belemann Bergmann.  He was Christened 25 Jun 1852 in Sundern, Arnsberg, Westfalen, Preuίen, Deutschland (Original) Sundern Arnsberg, Westfalen, Prussia.

Children of Anton Frank Bergmann, (1852–1933) and Mary Katherine Plankermann, (1861–1905):  Adolf Bergmann 1883–1945; George Bergmann 1884–1914; Mary Bergmann 1886–1886; Bergman 1887–1887; Anton Andrew Bergmann 1888–1960; Gertrude Bergmann 1890–1890; Justina Bergmann 1892–1966; Mary Bergmann ; 1894–1978; Paul Frank Bergmann 1896–1917; Michael Bergmann ; 1898–1970; Helen T Bergmann 1901–1988; Agnes Bergmann 1903–1983.

Adolph Bergmann (1815–1889) and Theresa Beilmann (1822–1896) the parents of these six children:  George Bergman (1846–1910); John Adolf Bergman (1846–1895); Anton Frank Bergmann (1852–1933); Frank Joseph Bergman (1855–1931); Maria Elisabeth Bergmann (1859–1940); and Theresa( Tracy) Bergman (1862–1907).
