Staffon, Charles (29 April 1876 - 28 October 1960)

 

Funeral services were held Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the Immaculate Conception Church in Alma Center, for Charles M. Staffon, 84, Alma Center, who died Friday in Neillsville.  Burial was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Alma Center.

 

Mr. Staffon was born April 29, 1876, in South Alma.  He farmed in that locality until moving to Alma Center.  He was a truck farmer and a leading strawberry grower for 50 years.

 

He was married to the former Louise Galster, who preceded him in death; and in 1902 he was married to Leona Bloom of Hixton, who survives.

 

In addition Mr. Staffon is survived by the following children: Mrs. Joe (Rachel) Kleba, Hixton; Leo Staffon, Neillsville; Lester Staffon, Alma Center; Lloyd Staffon, Monroe; Mrs. Harold (Thelma) Ely, Manitowoc; and Cecelia Staffon of Eau Claire.  Other survivors are a brother, Otto Staffon, Eau Claire; 21 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

 

Pallbearers were: Stanley held, Harold Breitenbach, Millard Squires, Ray Esser, John and Victor Capaul.
