David Thomas Johnson was born near Withee December 15, 1895, to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Johnson, Sr.  He had two brothers, one a twin (William Johnson of Portland, Ore.) and the other also of Portland, Ore., Joe Johnson.  Also, a sister survives, Mrs. Ella Lange of Minneapolis, Minn.  The parents have long preceded him in death.

He was unmarried, and in recent years spent some time in a veteran’s hospital.  He died October 21 of a complication of illnesses at Luther hospital, Eau Claire.

The funeral was held in Owen, with Rev. Stone of the Missionary Alliance Church officiating.  Burial was made in Riverside Cemetery.  He was a life member of the American Legion at Thorp, and belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
