Fremont (3 November 1960)

 

Installation of officers was held by the Fremont Grange Friday evening.  Mrs. Julius Rennak, master of Clark Grange, assisted by Mrs. Rollie Benedict, Mrs. Nyle Benedict and Donald Holt, installed the officers.  The Grange received a gold seal for their work in community service.  Mrs. Robert Prust received the door prize.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Silas Booth of Barron and John Wood of Almond visited Monday and Tuesday in the Wayne Booth home.  Helen Sparks of Sherwood spent from Monday until Thursday there.

 

The Granton Royal Neighbor lodge met Wednesday evening in the home of Mrs. Manford Cain.  Mrs. Otto Schmidtke conducted the business meeting.  Ora Davis, Sunshine chairman, reported several members ill. Cards and gifts were sent to them.  A "blind auction" was held to replenish the Sunshine fund.  Po-Ke-No was played for entertainment following the meeting.  The November meeting will be held in the home of Mrs. William Eibergen.

 

Mrs. Erwin Farnsworth and Darwyn spent the weekend in the Myrtle Mueller and Duane Schroeder homes in Waverly, Ia.  Darwyn attended the homecoming football game at Wartburg College.

 

Mrs. Rose Steinke of Portland, Ore., has been spending several days with Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Eppers and with her sister and other relatives in and around Marshfield.

 

Mr. and Mrs. William Schwellenbach recently spent a few days with their daughter, Mrs. Myron Clark and family and with their son, Wallace, and his family in Beloit.
