Withee (3 November 1960)

Mr. and Mrs. Gene Karaba and two daughters of Milwaukee visited last weekend with her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smith of Owen, and his brother and her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Karaba of rural Owen.

The Clark County Farm Bureau met in the Withee assembly hall last Thursday.  An election of officers took place. A banquet was served with Mrs. Peter Zasoba in charge of the ladies of Nazareth Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Herman Clobbin of rural Withee was taken to Gilman last week to stay with her daughter, Mrs. Clarence Frad.  Mrs. Clobbin recently returned from a hospital, where she had been for treatment.

At the October 26 meeting of the W. S. C. S. an open discussion of the coming election and the importance of the issues at stake took place.  Rev. and Mrs. Gene Carlson attended.  Mrs. Ethel Johnson and Mrs. Margaret Vater were hostesses.

Tracy Hansen drove to Flint, Mich. Sunday, returning late Monday.

Mrs. Anna Bundgaard, wife of a former pastor of Nazareth Lutheran Church at Withee, was given a surprise birthday and house warming party at her new home by ladies of the church Sunday evening.
