Little, Arnold Clayton (26 February 1907 - October 1960)

 

Arnold Clayton Little was born at Fond du Lac February 26, 1907.  He attended schools in Fond du Lac County and Barron Township.

 

He married Alvaretta Durham July 3, 1942, in Green Bay.  Two children besides his wife survive.  They are: Donald 14, and Jeanne, 12, both of Withee; a sister, Mrs. A. Schwend of Waupun; and four brothers: John of St. Petersburg, Fla., Roland of Viroqua, Lester of Appleton, and Deane of Green Bay.

 

His mother, Mrs. Lola Hanner of Owen, also survives.

 

He worked as a machine operator in Badger valve rebuilders in Withee.

 

He served in the navy in World War II from 1942 until 1944; was manager and field superintendent for Western Condensing Company for 21 years.  He resigned a few years ago to pioneer in the re-building of stainless steel valves, used in dairy equipment.

 

He was a member of Owen’s Masonic Lodge, the Owen Eastern Star, and Owen American Legion and of the Eau Claire consistory.  He was also a member of the Withee town board at the time of his death.

 

Death occurred on the way to Memorial Hospital at Stanley after a heart attack and death was due to coronary thrombosis.

 

The funeral was held November 2, with Masonic rites.  The Rev. Cecil Ward of Stanley and Rev. Gene Carlson of Greenwood officiated.  Burial was made in Quinnesac, Mich.
