Bowen, Richard E. (1905 - November 1960)
Richard E. Bowen was born in Longwood, in 1905, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bowen. He served in World War II from 1942 until 1945.
About 19 years ago he was married in Stanley, to Mary Dvock, who, with six children, a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Janikowski of Antigo, and five at home survive. They are: Richard 17, Margaret, 16, Betty Joe, 13, Marilyn, 9 and John, 1. His mother, Mrs. Ed Bowen of Neillsville, and a brother, Howard, Wisconsin Rapids also survive.
Funeral services were held Saturday from Holy Rosary Church in Owen, with the Rev., H. L. Crubel officiating. Services at the grave were held by the American Legion.
Pallbearers were: Henry Cieslik, Vaner Lindgren, William Craig, Emery Erickson, Ed Martin and Chec Davis. Mr. Bowen had been employed at the Western Condensery at Owen for the last 15 years.
