Berry, Mabel (27 July 1889-? Nov 1949)
Mrs. William Berry, 60, died at 7 a.m. last Thursday at her home in Colby. She had been ill for a long time.
Funeral services were conducted at the Lulloff funeral home in Colby at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, followed by services in the Methodist church of Colby, at 2 o’clock. The Rev. F. J. Smith conducted the rites and burial was in the Colby cemetery.
Mrs. Berry, the former Mabel Hanson, was born on July 27, 1889, in Marscelles, Ill., and came to Dorchester when she was seven years old. After her marriage to Mr. Berry on May 16, 1908, she lived at Abbotsford. Eleven years ago the family moved to Colby.
Surviving besides her husband, are a son, Warner Berry of Loyal, and three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Joyce) Kratochwill of Muscoda, Mrs. Allen (Birdell) Brehm of Whiting, Ind., and Mrs. Ben (Lenore) Riplinger of Rockford, Ill. There is one grandson, Billy Berry of Loyal.
Her sister, Mrs. Herbert Brown and a brother, Charles Hanson preceded her in death.
Mrs. Berry was a member of the WBA lodge, a member of the Woman’s Society of Christian Science of the Methodist church, and a member of the Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 129 at Abbotsford.
