Wetzel, Mr. and Mrs. Otto (Golden - 21 November 1960)
A surprise golden wedding anniversary celebration was held at the Arthur Nemitz home in the Town of Hewett (rightfully Pine Valley), Saturday night, honoring Mr. and Mrs. Otto Wetzel of Rt. 3, Neillsville.
Otto Wetzel and Anna Kvittem were married in Fort Atkinson November 21, 1910. They lived there about a year, and then moved to North Dakota for a couple of years. Since that time they have been living in the Neillsville area, and at present are on a farm about three miles southwest of Neillsville, in the Town of Pine Valley.
Those present included three daughters of the couple and members of their families: Mrs. William (Mildred) Bozman of Mattoon, Ill., Mrs. Leonard (Ruth) Godwin of Mukwonago; and Mrs. Oscar (Evelyn) Walk. The fourth sister, Mrs. Russell (Marian) Holton of Arlington, VT., was unable to attend, but telephone her congratulations during the event.
Others present included the families of the three daughters and the following: Mr. and Mrs. Herman Meyer and daughter, Chippewa Falls; and the following folks from Neillsville: Mr. and Mrs. Emil Wetzel and children; Mr. and Mrs. George Meihack and Ruby, Mrs. Minnie Nemitz, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Meihack and children, Mr. and Mrs. August Nemitz and family, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Nemitz, Mrs. Albert Dux, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wetzel and son, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Roehl and son, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Wiesner, Jr. and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Cook, Charlie Baehr, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Zank, and daughter, Mrs. William Zank, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brown, Helen Evans and Estelle Wojtowicz.
