Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Giese have returned from the home of their son, Edward, and his family at Atlantic City.
Mr. and Mrs. Myron Fritsch and Sandra went to Stevens Point last Sunday to help celebrate their eldest daughter Jackie’s 21st birthday. Jackie and Barbara Fritsch are attending college there.
Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Giese visited friends and relatives in Shawano Friday.
The Methodist W. S. C. S. Book club met at the home of Mrs. Algina Peterson November 10.
Rev. Gene Carlson organized a "Couples Club" at the Methodist Church November 13. This will take the place of the usual "Men’s Club" which, due to the small attendance would be hard to organize.
Mr. and Mrs. John Speich, Greenwood visited Sunday afternoon and evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arno Vater.
Pfc. Roy Combs, on furlough from Fort Leavenworth, Kans., is visiting his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. August Slock. This was Roy’s home while he was growing up.
Mrs. Ray Slock and Mrs. August Slock were in Eau Claire recently.
Mrs. Glen Durbin, Mrs. Ernestine Durbin and Mrs. Howard Durbin were in Milwaukee recently to attend the 25th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Felix Poznanski.
Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Giese were guests at the Elmer Bender home at Loyal Saturday evening.
Richard Giese, Jr., and family of Richland Center, visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Giese Sunday.
Mrs. Fred Dix drove to Merrillan Saturday afternoon to meet her husband, who spent the weekend with his family. He is employed in Milwaukee.
Clarence Neilsen of Mayville and formerly of Withee is visiting his sister, Mrs. Freitag and with friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kurhais drove to Chicago Saturday afternoon to visit their son, Louie Kurhais, Jr., and other relatives. They delivered a car he had purchased recently, to their son, Louis.
Mrs. Niles Moody of Madison and Mrs. Raymond Jones of Randolph came Friday to visit their parents in Owen, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Vater. They drove home Sunday afternoon.
A Pack meeting of cub scouts was held Tuesday night at the Nazareth Lutheran assembly hall. Rev. Beryl Knutsen, Cubmaster, awarded badges. A skit on "fire prevention" was given. Mrs. Fred Dix is the Den Mother.
Mr. Trewartha, head of the Welfare department for the county, spoke Wednesday at a combined meeting of the Young Village Homemakers of Withee and the merry Makers of Owen. Mr. Trewartha’s speech was on, "Welfare and Work," and the meeting was held at the Withee Junior High School. Lunch was served after the meeting.
