Greenwood, Wisconsin (17 November 1960)

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Vollrath spent Sunday in Jump River with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dodge, formerly of Greenwood.

Mr. and Mrs. Leo Bredesen and grandsons, Sam and Joel Dunn, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. David Harms and family.

Members of the ladies Aid society were entertained Wednesday afternoon at the Ewald Schwarze home. The group continued the study of the Heidelburg catechism. The next meeting will be a Christmas party December 14 at the Glenn Horn home.  Gifts will be exchanged and a potluck lunch will be served.

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Voie and the Rev. Arvid Myhrwold attended a constituting convention of the Eau Claire conference Sunday at the American Lutheran Church in Colfax.

Lawrence Kitzhaber underwent surgery last Thursday in Marshfield.

Robert and Ronald, one-year-old twin sons of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Sowieja, are receiving treatments in Marshfield.

Mrs. Hugh Severson, Donald Berthold and Miss Louise Keiner visited in Neillsville, Friday.

Lloyd Berken of Appleton spoke at the Veterans Day program Friday evening at Greenwood High School.  Mr. Berken, who was accompanied by his wife, has been active in Legion affairs, and is presently serving as national committeeman for Wisconsin, and is a life member of Post 436, Wrightstown.  The program was sponsored by the Wallis-Hinker post and included presentation of the colors by the American Legion drill team.

Mr. and Mrs. Palmer Vinger and Richard Thompson spent Thursday an Friday in St. Paul, where they attended a meeting at the Federal Intermediate Credit Bank and attended a banquet Thursday evening.

Mrs. Jake Speich entered Memorial Hospital, Neillsville Tuesday.  Those who visited her there Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Speich and family of Watertown; Mr. and Mrs. Gary Speich of Osseo; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Speich of Pittsville, Mr. and Mrs. Abe Speich of Ripon; Miss Violet Speich and Mr. and Mrs. James Metcalf.
